Abstract

The article examines a study by librarians at York College of Pennsylvania's (YCP) Schmidt Library which looked at the prevalence of student preference for print books for academic use. Information is provided on the methodology of the study, which used an online survey of YCP students to find that approximately 48% of students did not use electronic books (eBooks) and 40% preferred print books. The impact of the survey results on library acquisitions is discussed.
