Abstract

Information disguising is one of the important means to solve the problem of information security. However, the research aiming at vector data hasn't got the well-deserved attention. The technology of difference expansion has the characteristics of non-destructive information disguise and reduction, this paper based on these characteristics presents a method of information disguise and reduction for GIS (Geographic Information System) vector data. For the illegal user this method can be realized the sensitive information hiding and restricting the use, but for the legitimate user who has key file it can restore data without loss. During in the vector data remote service, this method can effectively solve the secure transmission and disguising decryption-data etc. © 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
