EKSISTENSI KELOMPOK WANITA TANI “MANDIRI SEJAHTERA” (STUDI KASUS DI DESA BOJONGMANGU, KABUPATEN BEKASI)

Abstract

The Existence of “Mandiri Sejahtera” Women Farmers Group (Case Study in Bojongmangu Village, Bekasi). The purpose of this research is to understand the existence of Kelompok Wanita Tani “Mandiri Sejahtera” in the middle of rapid industrial expansion. This research was conducted in Desa Bojongmangu, Kecamatan Bojongmangu, Kabupaten Bekasi. The techniques that used to collect data were observation and interview. The interviews were conducted with members of KWT “Mandiri Sejahtera”. The result of this research showed that the existence of KWT “Mandiri Sejahtera” in the middle of industrial expansion was well empowered by the government. The success of the empowerment was proven by the fact that KWT “Mandiri Sejahtera” won the Peningkatan Peran Wanita Menuju Keluarga Sehat & Sejahtera (P2WKSS) program that were held at province. The existence of KWT “Mandiri Sejahtera” also gave financial supports for the members. The government tried to apply the bottom-up system by considered the people need’s first. Even though the industrial expansion was still implemented, the government did not forget to improve the agricultural sector. One of many ways to improve agricultural sector was by empowering Kelompok Wanita Tani “Mandiri Sejahtera”. Keywords: women farmer group, industry, empowerment, government
