Sampling in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Industries

Abstract

This article discusses the specific issues related to sampling in the pharmaceutical and chemical industry. The effect of measurement uncertainty in case of acceptance sampling by variables is one issue. The largest deterioration on the operating characteristics is seen from the low-frequency error type. Sampling in bulk materials and retesting is also discussed. The trend in this industry is in the direction of faster measurement methods replacing off-line by on-line measuring and release.
