Silicon nanowire films have been modified with boron and used as sensors to measure glucose in aqueous solution. These sensors have a wide linear range (0-10 mM glucose), high sensitivity (172 nA mmol-1), good reproducibility, and long-term stability. Silicon nanowire films have also been modified with magnesium and shown to perform as sensors for detecting hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution. © 2005 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
