Abstract

The purpose of the study is to determine parents perceptions for the causes of intellectual disability in their children in Jordan according to the variables: the sex of the parent and the severity of the disability, the study adopted the descriptive analytical approach as it fits the purposes of the study. The sample of the study consisted of 176 father and 165 mother who have a son or daughter diagnose with intellectual disability in Amman to achieve the aims of the study a scale for parents perceptions for the causes of intellectual disability developed to collect data, percentages and frequencies and multiple quadratic variance were calculated to answer the questions.
