Abstract

An outline is given of the implications for education of the Health and Safety at Work Act, together with a brief description of attitudes to safety training in the industrial, educational and further educational fields. An investigation is made of the attitudes of students towards safety in chemistry and their knowledge of the same. A relationship is shown between student attitudes towards safety and their academic levels and industrial backgrounds. Also, the relationship between student knowledge of safety and these two factors is examined. © 1985 The Vocational Aspect of Education Ltd.
