Abstract

A review. This article discusses about the electrochem. basis for EZSCAN/SUDOSCAN using quick, simple, and non-invasive method to evaluate sudomoto dysfunctions. Presently, prediabetes and diabetes are diagnosed by blood glucose or HbA1c levels with threshold values that were initially based on risk for retinopathy, a microvascular complication. Based on studies performed with QSART or skin biopsies, small fiber neuropathy has been shown to develop early in patients with prediabetes or cardiometabolic risk. However, the two highly specialized methods cannot be used for a large screening. [on SciFinder(R)]
