Justice and indigenous governance. An experience as a community authority

Abstract

Justice administration, in the exercise of jurisdiction and indigenous governance. It questions customary practices that reproduce oppression in the field of community justice as a consequence of the systematic establishment of Western legal culture in indigenous communities. At the same time, it proposes «decolonial» practices to rehabilitate community justice based on the rights recognized to indigenous peoples in order to maximize indigenous autonomy and self-government.
