Abstract
This study was conducted to assess the effects of poultry manure (PM) on soil chemical properties and maize yield. A completely randomized Fisher block device was installed in the experimental station with 4 repetitions and 6 treatments: (V0, V1, V2, V3, V4 and V5) with poultry manure and/or mineral fertilizers. The results showed that over the two years of trials, the treatment V5 (5 T. PM + 25% of recommended mineral fertilizer) recorded the best grain yield (3508 kg/ha to 3616 kg/ha), stem biomass (5889 kg/ha to 6932 kg/ha) and weight of 1000 grains (212 g to 225 g). All the treatments based on poultry manure had an impact on soil chemical parameters during the 2 years of trial. In the first year of trial, the treatment V5 increased soil acidity (5.72), carbon (0.54%), Nitrogen (0.046%), phosphorusavailable (13.47 mg/kg) and the CEC (3.1 cmol/kg) compared to the other treatments (V2, V3 and V4). Poultry manure combined with mineral fertilizers can improved soil fertility and sustain soil fertility.
