Abstract

Classification schemes of glaucoma, as defined in the literature, are not consistently held by experts, complicating comparison of data across studies [1]. Uveitic glaucoma, specifically, is not exempt from this lack of uniformity; however, definitions have been established by the Standardization of Uveitis Nomenclature Working group in an effort to improve reporting of clinical findings [2]. Disease classification may be integral in determining pathogenesis and appropriate therapy; however, almost all classification systems currently in use are arbitrary and limited [3]. The purpose of this chapter is to review the current classification schemes in place, and to define key criteria for the diagnosis of uveitic glaucoma.
