Abstract

Contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) of the gastrointestinal tract can provide useful information on the vascularization of the bowel wall and adjacent structures. There are several types of different agents, varying in size and composition, and all can be safely applied in the majority of patients. The present chapter reviews the current state of the art of CEUS and its application in visceral ultrasound.
