Religious Moderation in Early Childhood Education: Integration of Values In The RA Curriculum in Cilacap Regency

Abstract

Indonesia, which is rich in ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity, requires an attitude of religious moderation as the key to maintaining unity and harmony in society. Religious moderation emphasizes an attitude of tolerance and avoidance of extremism, so that differences are not a source of conflict, but an opportunity for mutual understanding. Therefore, education from an early age plays an important role in instilling the values of moderation so that future generations are able to live side by side in peace and harmony. The method in this study is qualitative. Religious moderation is an important value that needs to be instilled from an early age to form the character of children who are tolerant, inclusive, and able to live peacefully amidst diversity. In the context of the RA curriculum, the values of moderation can be integrated through a thematic approach, play activities, storytelling, and daily interactions that are fun and in accordance with child development. Although its implementation in RA Cilacap Regency faces a number of challenges such as limited teacher understanding and resource support, various opportunities such as local wisdom, community support, curriculum flexibility, and government policies
