Abstract
Purwodadi Village is a residential area in Malang Regency, East Java. Purwodadi village, including the Lenggoksono beach, has coastal landscape potential. Of course, developing coastal tourism necessitates the involvement of local communities in order to achieve sustainable coastal tourism. The purpose of the study was to identify the potential and constraints of developing the Lenggoksono coastal tourism area in order to achieve sustainable coastal tourism. The techniques of purposeful and snowball sampling were used. The data was gathered by interviewing seven informants in the first stage, five in the second stage, and two in the third stage. Furthermore, the researcher interviewed 20 tourists. The data was analyzed using data reduction and coding techniques. According to the findings, the implementation of coastal tourism at the Lenggoksono beach site was not flawless. At Lenggoksono Beach, tourist attractions such as surfing, snorkeling, diving, camping, beach sports, panorama, swimming, jet skiing, canoeing, traditional ceremonies, fishing, and culinary can all be developed. However, obstacles to developing Lenggoksono beach tourism include the need to improve infrastructure, tourism support facilities, analysis of tourist zones and ecological carrying capacity, physical planning of the area, conservation activities, tsunami evacuation routes, local specialties, online media promotion, tour packages, local community acceptance, and academic and local government support.
