Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the free trade agreements (FTA) and models in the U.S. in terms of multilateralism and regionalism in international trade. An overview of the FTAs that aim for trade liberalization and reform, entered by the U.S. with Israel, Canada, and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is presented. It outlines the elements of the U.S. NAFTA model that embraces General Agreements on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) plus model.
