Abstract

An outline is given of the reactions experienced by 20 persons who were immunized with Semple rabbit-brain vaccine after exposure to infection from a rabid leopard cub. Two persons were seriously ill and others suffered severe discomfort. The importance of restricting human access to animals in quarantine in order to reduce the number of persons requiring vaccination is emphasized. © 1967, British Medical Journal Publishing Group.
