Effectiveness of Leaflet Media on Mother's Interest in Information on Balanced Nutrition for Toddlers

Abstract

Consuming an imbalanced diet can lead to malnutrition in toddlers. To enhance maternal knowledge of balanced nutrition for toddlers, a leaflet can be utilized as a medium. The research aims to assess the effectiveness of the leaflet medium in improving mothers' knowledge and interest in balanced nutrition for their toddlers in Kampung Baru, Riau Province. This study follows a Quasi-Experimental design employing a One Group Pre-Post Test, involving 85 mother respondents with toddlers in the Kampung Baru District, Riau Province. Purposive Sampling technique was used to collect data via questionnaires, followed by a chi-square statistical test. The research findings revealed a p-value of 0.000, indicating that the use of the leaflet increased mothers' interest in balanced nutrition for their toddlers in the Kampung Baru District, Riau Province. Health workers are advised to provide information and education regarding balanced toddler nutrition through active dissemination of leaflets and counseling in Kampung Baru, Riau Province.
