Abstract
This study aims to explore the feasibility of transforming used banner materials into eco-friendly furniture and soft toys for toddlers by implementing the Montessori educational approach. The study emphasizes the creation of adaptable, modular play structures intended to promote young children's motor and sensory development. These modules, which are packed with shredded banner waste, provide a tactile, soft, and safe environment that promotes exploratory play and is in line with important Montessori values like independence, experiential learning, and environmental consciousness. Numerous geometric prototypes in a range of sizes - from tiny hand-held items to bigger, climbable structures - were produced using a research-by-design technique. These modular components assist children's growth milestones and encourage both physical and cognitive engagement when rearranged into various indoor play configurations. The study also looks into how the four primary categories of play - sensory material, basic math, structural, and gravity play - correspond to the various spatial elements in each module. The study offers two benefits by combining sustainable design principles with early childhood education: it reduces the visual pollution brought on by post-election banner waste and provides a useful, instructive application for recycled materials. The findings demonstrate for further research into environmentally conscious product development for learning environments by proving the viability and pedagogical benefits of using waste-based materials in children's furniture design.
