Abstract

This paper proposes an efficient method to manage energy consumption. In usual practice; a major focus is given to the total cost generated in an electricity bill. The amount of power consumed by individual appliances remains a question. This study demonstrates the usage of sensors to determine the power consumed by individual appliances and a microcontroller to perform computations and put on the internet for future analysis. This power management mechanism helps us control appliances thereby preventing wastage of power, thus making the world a better and a smarter place to live in.
