Abstract

Through the analysis on new characteristics of regional trade in the development of regional economic integration of East Asia and the role of multinational firms in trade growth of East Asia, this paper studies the restructuring features of multinational firms in production allocation choice and industrial organizational model. From the aspects of FDI, outsourcing, fragmentation and other international production organization forms of multinational firms, it conducts classification analysis on industrial chain organizational patterns of multinational firms and their features. Finally, it proposes the forecast to future researches about the impacts of industrial allocation relocation of multinational firms and industrial chain organizational pattern restructuring on the environment, employment, leading industry formation of East Asia countries, as well as on the social responsibilities of multinational firms. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
