Abstract

Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is an evidence- based multidisciplinary therapy for patients with chronic respiratory diseases. The evidence for rehabilitation in patients with asthma is increasing. In patients with partially controlled or uncontrolled bronchial asthma, who have been hospitalized due to an exacerbation or recurrent asthma exacerbation, the indication for rehabilitation should be assessed. A PR consists of an individually tailored multimodal and multidisciplinary therapy program that aims to reduce the symptoms, improve physical resilience and quality of life as well as to increase selfcompetence. Outpatient maintenance programs can help to positively influence the long-term rehabilitation effect. Digital technologies can also be used as a supportive measure intervention.
