Abstract

A new species of diogenid hermit crab, Trizopagurus rubrocinctus, is described from the Cape Verde Islands. It is compared with two related species, T. melitai (Chevreux et Bouvier) from the West-African Atlantic, and T. magnificus (Bouvier), from the Eastern Tropical Pacific.
