Abstract
Astronomical Institutions of Mexico and Massachusetts erect at this time a 50 m radio telescope on Cerro la Negra in Mexico. The telescope is dedicated to the observation of millimeter waves and achieves the necessary accuracy via an "active" reflector surface. It was developed by a specialized engineering team of MAN Technologie in Mainz, Germany. This paper reports on the steel construction aspects of the telescope design.
