Abstract

A new species, Paphia paniensis, is described and illustrated. it is compared with Paphia neocaledonica, the only other New Caledonian species. The new species has a restricted distribution; so far it is known only from Mt Panié (1500—1600 m altitude) in New Caledonia. The status of the genus Paphia is briefly reviewed. © 2007 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
