The Latin network for the development of design processes in its First International Forum discusses whether or not there has been a rediscovery of Latin tradition, and the reasons behind local identities in the countries that create the network. We seek to understand the new axis of macro tradition that design culture springs from. At the same time, we verify whether the Latin linguistic-cultural tradition has provided a common base in which we can trace elements of permanence that are similar in each country. Key words: design as a process, identity, Latin tradition, postcolonial approach.
