Abstract

This study investigates how laymen crowd-funders react to passion and preparedness displayed in entrepreneurs’ pitch videos. It found both displayed passion and preparedness aid entrepreneurs in attracting funding. Human capital, or domain expertise within the crowd, attenuates the positive effects of both displayed passion and displayed preparedness.
