Telemedicine and COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

The telemedicine obtained a new shape during and because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Telemedicine has already been part of the healthcare systems in most countries of the world before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The redefinition of telemedicine by legal tools and through empirical approach has rendered the utilisation of telemedicine more widespread than ever before. Telemedicine conveys advantages despite its actual disadvantages. These advantages by and large overpass the possible disadvantages. The electronic healthcare documentation will be used in legal procedures as an important proof that could help the healthcare provider's exculpation. Since, in Hungary, the healthcare provider can prove before court the standard level of provided healthcare by means of an adequately administered healthcare documentation, it is highly relevant to properly administer it in the Electronic Healthcare Cooperation Service Space.
