Abstract

A key question in synaptic physiology is what determines the release probability of a synaptic vesicle. In this issue of Neuron, Wadel et al. shed UV light on this problem, finding that hard-to-release vesicles are too far from Ca2+ channels. © 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
