Abstract

For gas turbines used in power generation, reliability is one of the most important considerations. In the past, reliability was determined qualitatively (at best). When feedback from operation periods was available, reliability was recorded and rated statistically. However, in the present situation it is more and more nrrnosry to quantifii reliability quantities in the design stage of a new gas turbine ("built-in reliability") with a sufficient accuracy.
