Abstract

Although the literature on anti-oppressive practice has proliferated in recent years, it has remained at an abstract theoretical level with little indication of how to practically implement this in social work practice. The Persona Doll Approach (PDA) provides an example of the practical implementation of anti-oppressive practice. This article describes the practical application of the Persona Doll Approach in the social work curriculum. It uses a case study to demonstrate how one student engaged in antioppressive practice by using the PDA in his fieldwork placement.
