Large artery occlusive disease is a common problem in the United States. It affects both the upper and lower extremities and is associated with significant morbidity ad mortality. This article deals with the clinical recognition of this entity in hopes that the general internist and rheumatologist will more easily recognize it. In addition, the latest technology available to diagnose and treat large artery occlusive disease is discussed.
