Abstract

We have developed a software that applies ascertainment bias on simulated DNA sequences and calculates FST on them, so they can be used to generate neutral distributions that are appropriate to test whether the genetic differentiation of a particular gene between populations is compatible with neutral evolution, or, on the contrary, suggests local adaptation by natural selection. © The Author 2008.
