The refugee experience is marked by forced migration due to political persecution and generalized violence, among other factors. As a result, refugees do not always have a migration plan or social networks in the host country, conditions that affect their social integration. The following article describes and analyzes the labor and socio-cultural integration of Palestinian refugees resettled in La Calera and San Felipe, in the Valparaíso Region of Chile. Some of the salient details examined in the study are the language, culture and religious differences that characterize this group of refugee families with respect to the host country.
