Abstract

The Professional Client/Consultants Service Agreement Committee (PROCSA) document describes the scope of construction services in South Africa into six stages spanning from stage 0 to stage 6. This study identified the ICT tool used from the project initiation (stage 0) to the construction (stage 5) in the South African construction industry. In this research, construction is classified into the planning, design/estimation, and actual construction. This study determines the ICT tools used in South Africa for construction activities. Through a questionnaire survey for construction stakeholders. An exploratory factor analysis revealed three clusters for the planning, two for the design/estimation, and three for the actual construction. As an implication, this study provides a framework for ICT tools as an infrastructure for development.
