Abstract

The aim of this article is to provide a working basis for handling cultural objects through the design and creation of a technical package. Factors acting on the safety of a cultural object in transit are analysed with a view to preventing or minimizing the risks. The package characteristics required to establish a safe, secure and isolated environment (from the deterioration agents) also are defined. Thus, application of a digital data collection methodology is proposed to accurately design a structure suited to the piece morphology. We used one software to create a 3D model and another one to decompose it in printable templates.
