Abstract

ABSTRACT This research discusses an effective approach in increasing self-confidence in adolescents from Broken Home backgrounds, who are disowned by their mothers, and who have been orphaned since childhood. Despite facing significant emotional and social challenges, these teens demonstrate extraordinary resilience, driven by the fear of God and active involvement in church ministry. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview methods and participant observation to collect data from teenagers who participate in church service programs. The research results show that social support from the church community, spiritual training, and active participation in service activities are key factors that help increase their self-confidence. In addition, teaching spiritual and moral values provides a strong foundation for teenagers to build a positive identity and face life’s challenges more optimistically. This research concludes that community and spiritual-based approaches are very effective in supporting the development of self-confidence in adolescents who experience life difficulties, and provides recommendations for implementing similar programs in other communities.
