The assimilation of cultural and visual identities through feature films on Disney+

Abstract

By the industrial assimilation of the VOD (Video On Demand), platforms have been configured as a paradigm shift. The budget increased by Netflix and the irruption of Disney+ have led to cinematographic results that have assumed two determining features: the representation of a culture with different identities, and a graphic character that assumes the technical varieties that were determined before. Thus, this study exposes how animation films, through the flow of new platforms, have adapted their narrative and visual structure to provide a result in accordance with the digital immediacy.
