In this paper, a planar waveguide fed patch antenna is designed, simulated and validated with the fabricated prototype for ultra-wide band (UWB) applications. The typical antenna has its operating frequencies in the allowed UWB region with the appreciable bandwidth. The antenna is simulated in commercially available Computer Simulation Technology (CST) software and analyzed using the simulated and measured return loss/reflection coefficient (RC) plots along with the respective radiation pattern plots.
