Abstract

Building Engineering Education is a vocational education institution that prepares competent and professional graduates in building engineering. The background of this research is the problem of the learning process that is not following the business world and the industrial world (DUDI). This study raises novelties such as applying production-based learning models rarely used in university education. Therefore, researchers try to apply this to be able to take place sustainably. Through this research, to see the product in Building Engineering Education which is seen from the component of teaching factory. This study aims to determine (1) the competencies delivered; (2) turnaround time; (3) the product needed internally and externally; (4) investment needs. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. The data used are semester learning plans (RPS), lecture contracts, and interview data. This study used a purposive sampling technique with a snowball sampling technique. Based on the research results, it was concluded that: (1) the competencies delivered, namely learning planning in the form of semester learning plans (RPS) were following the existing planning stages; implementation of learning methods used production-based learning; the learning assessment contained in the assessment rubric is quite good, (2) the product work process is completed on time according to the lecture contract, (3) the product is needed internally and externally, preferably the type of product that is following the market, (4) investment needs can be accepted in the market or used for further practice, product sales proceeds are allocated for maintenance and tool development.
