Abstract

The electron transport in semiconductor superlattices (SL), wherein the barriers are modulated by a Gaussian function, is studied. The SL is designed for use as energy-efficient band-pass filters. The electron transport probability is almost equal to unity within the allowed minibands. The current density-voltage characteristics present a negative differential resistance (NDR) with different peak-to-valley ratio.
