Nueva interpretación de la inscripción de «Betatun»

Abstract

En este trabajo se propone una nueva lectura de la inscripción votiva de Fuerte del Rey (Jaén) en que aparece el teónimo ibérico Betatun. En concreto, se interpreta que no existe signo de interpunción entre BELESI y AR, con lo que se obtiene un nombre personal ibérico normal, y se resuelven otros problemas que planteaba la inscripción.In this work we propose a new reading of the votive inscription found in Fuerte del Rey (Jaén), in which the new Iberian theonim, Betatun, appears. More exactly, we propose that there is no separation sign between BELESI and AR, so that we have a standard Iberian personal name, and other problems raised by the inscription are solved.
