Abstract
A more direct synthesis of bis(cyclopentadienyl)zirconium dihydride, Cp2ZrH2 (1), has been reported relatively recently by Wailes et al.1 They have also reported in their subsequent papers2-4 that 1 reacts with acetone to give bis(cyclopentadienyl)zirconium diisopropoxide, Cp2Zr-[OCH(CH3)2]2 (2), and with 2-propanol to give 2 and zirconium tetraisopropoxide, Zr[OCH(CH3)2]4, in which the cyclopentadienyl groups are split off. © 1986, American Chemical Society.
