Speaking allowed: the political voice of public health

Abstract

Europe is at a crossroads in approaches to tackling health inequalities and understanding the role of public health. What is evident is the strong relationship between life expectancy, years of healthy life and socio economic trends and the marked social gradient, or health gap, between every rung on the ladder of socioeconomic status.
