Abstract

The formation of self-organized domain patterns during polarization reversal in highly non-equilibrium switching conditions was studied by us earlier in the single crystals of lithium niobate and lithium tantalate. In this paper, we used the phase-field simulation to verify the analogy between self-organized growth of domains and new phase during the first order phase transition. The crystal symmetry C3v was taken into account. The similarity of simulated and experimentally observed shapes of isolated domains was achieved.
