Abstract

Objectives: This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (intervention). The objectives are as follows:. Primary Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of antibiotics in adults with irritable bowel syndrome compared to placebo or standard medical therapy alone. Secondary Objective To determine the duration of response or time of recurrence following antibiotics in adults with irritable bowel syndrome.
