Abstract

The author reflects on the role of faith and faith-based organizations among African Americans and the potential for faith-based interventions to change behaviors and improve health outcomes. She cites the implementation of several health interventions into African American churches. An overview of a study published within the issue about HIV-related context of young African American women in African American churches is also offered.
