KYAI DALAM PERUBAHAN SOSIAL DI PARE TAHUN 1970-1990

Abstract

This final project will explain that Kyai Yazid has made very significant changes to the dynamics of the life of the Pare community with his ability to master and understand various foreign languages. Arabic and Dutch are the references for mastering foreign languages such as Hebrew, German, English, Japanese, Persian, French and Hebrew. The problems raised from this research are, Why did the Pare community change and how Kyai Yazid made these changes. This study uses the historical method, based on the historical method, what is carried out in this research are as follows: Huristic (search for sources), data verification or source criticism, interpretation (interpretation of facts that have gone through the source verification process), The last stage of the historical method is historiography (writing history). In addition to using the historical method, this research uses a historical biographical approach. The sources used in this study are primary sources and secondary sources contained in archives, photographs, foreign language dictionaries, contemporary newspapers such as newspapers from Germany which were sent specifically for Kyai Yazid, books which are the readings or writings of the kyai. Yazid, as well as sources from print and online media. The conclusion of this study is that Kyai Yazid grew up as an agency that changed the structure of the Pare community in the following two ways: (Teaching foreign languages in the learning system and using the getok tular system in expanding foreign language skills in the Darul Fallah Islamic boarding school environment).
