Abstract

Internal disc damage (IDD) is a cause of chronic pain that 80 percent of people experience sometime during their life. It decreases quality of life and limits physical activities. Slightly degenerated discs in the lower lumbar intervertebral disc (IVD) are more susceptible to disc prolapse, associated with back pain.
