Abstract

In recent times, social media especially Facebook is much popular tool among youth. Where social media can benefit youth, there is also chance of problem for youngsters. The core aspire of current research study was to know about “Relationship between Self-esteem and Problematic Use of Facebook”. Study was survey based and data was collected from students of Foundation University Islamabad using random sampling technique. The sample size of study was n=313 students including male and female. The study concluded that Facebook use is more favorite hobby of youth especially university and spend lot of time on social media. Using Facebook alone and at night timing found common among youngster. Furthermore study revealed that self-esteem causes less problematic use of Facebook and no difference was found among male and female about more problematic use of Facebook as gender.
