Abstract
Wooden toys have great potential to introduce Indonesian culture to children at an early age. The children will learn to appreciate differences and respect each other. The toys hold significant potential for introducing Indonesian culture to children from an early age, acting as a bridge to foster an appreciation for diversity and mutual respect. By engaging with these toys, children can develop the foundational qualities of tolerance and understanding, which are essential for thriving in a pluralistic society. This article investigates the importance of Nusantara wooden educational toys and the various challenges faced during their design process. Creative manifestations of these toys can take numerous forms, including puzzles, wooden dolls, and disassembly kits, each serving as a tool to impart cultural values and heritage. The research underscores the necessity of cultural exploration, field observations, and collaboration with cultural experts and skilled wood artisans to create toys that are not only visually appealing but also educational and genuinely representative of Indonesian traditions. Furthermore, the article highlights the critical role of technology and digital media in broadening the reach and impact of these products in today’s interconnected world. By employing qualitative research methods and library resources for data collection, this study aims to provide insights into effective strategies for promoting Nusantara wooden educational toys. With the right implementation, these toys can serve as powerful instruments for nurturing a deep appreciation for Indonesian culture in the younger generation while simultaneously bolstering the growth of the local creative industry. Therefore, designing these toys requires special strategies and techniques. This article discusses the importance of Nusantara wooden educational toys and the challenges they face when designing them. The wooden toys can be made into several forms, such as puzzles, wooden dolls, and disassembly toys. This paper describes the importance of cultural research, field observations, and collaboration with cultural experts and wood craftsmen to create attractive, educational, and authentic designs. In addition, this article emphasizes the importance of utilizing technology and digital media to expand product reach.
